A modern retreat suspended among the trees

Step inside Twelve34 House, a mid-century-inspired retreat tucked into the woods of Hocking Hills, Ohio. Designed by Jami and Scott Jenkins as part of their EcoLuxe property, the single-story home is cantilevered over a wooded ravine, creating the feeling of living among the treetops.

Floor-to-ceiling glass brings the surrounding forest directly into the home, while a carefully considered interior, chef’s kitchen, private hot tub, and expansive outdoor living spaces make Twelve34 feel less like a traditional cabin and more like a modern house in the woods.

Set on 32 wooded acres, it is a place where the architecture is the experience.

The story of the space

Twelve34 was the second chapter in Jami and Scott's Hocking Hills story.

After creating Carpenter's Cabin as a gathering place for their family, they wanted to try something different. The result was a home with a distinctly modern point of view, one that would eventually become their most booked retreat.

The house was designed around the way Jami and Scott imagined living there themselves. Its single-story layout and accessibility were considered from the beginning, allowing the home to accommodate the future without compromising the design.

But the defining idea is its relationship to the landscape.

Cantilevered over a ravine, Twelve34 gives its bedrooms an unusual perspective: treetops and stars instead of neighboring houses. Floor-to-ceiling glass turns the forest into part of the interior, creating the feeling of a penthouse hidden in the woods.

Even the name has a story.

During a difficult period in the building process, Jami kept encountering the numbers 12:34. She came to see them as a reminder to keep moving forward, one step at a time. Today, a vintage mid-century clock inside the entry is intentionally stopped at 12:34.

It's a quiet detail, but one that says something about the house itself. Beneath the clean lines and modern materials is a deeply personal family story.

Why Locèlle loves it

  • Architecture in the treetops. Cantilevered over a ravine, Twelve34 makes the surrounding forest feel like part of the house rather than a view beyond it.
  • A modern take on Hocking Hills. Mid-century-inspired architecture, warm materials, and expansive glass offer a different interpretation of the traditional cabin.
  • Designed for the future. A single-story layout and certified accessibility were incorporated from the beginning, proving that thoughtful design and accessibility can exist beautifully together.
  • Indoor-outdoor living, considered. A large accordion door opens the living space onto a covered deck with a fire table, outdoor kitchen, grill, and pizza oven.
  • The luxury is the view. From the bedrooms, guests look directly into the canopy and out toward the ravine, with the landscape changing dramatically through the seasons.
  • A house with a story. The vintage clock stopped at 12:34 is a small reminder of the perseverance and faith that shaped the house.
  • Book Direct. Locèlle introduces you directly to Jami and Scott, so you can book with the owners without added platform fees.

Who it’s for

Twelve34 House is made for couples, two couples, and small groups who want a more architectural take on the Hocking Hills experience.

It's especially suited to travelers who notice the details: the way the morning light moves through the glass, the feeling of being suspended above the trees, the warmth of a mid-century-inspired interior, and the transition from the living room to the forest beyond.

Come for the trails and ravines of Hocking Hills. Stay for the treetop views, the fire table, the record player, and the feeling of having a modern house entirely to yourself in the woods.

Meet Your Hosts

Jami and Scott Jenkins

Jami and Scott Jenkins created Eco-Luxe from a deeply personal idea: a place where family, nature, and thoughtful design could come together. When they discovered the wooded property in Hocking Hills in 2020, the surrounding pine forest immediately felt like the right place to build that vision. For Jami, Carpenter’s Cabin was also a way to honor her father, a contractor who taught her to value craftsmanship and quality materials. Together, Jami and Scott designed the cabin with their children and grandchildren in mind, bringing multiple generations into the building process along the way. Today, Eco-Luxe is an extension of that original dream—a place designed not simply for guests to stay, but for families to gather, slow down, and create memories that can carry forward for generations.

WHY BOOK THIS HOUSE

A Modern House in the Woods

Twelve34 House is a rare kind of Hocking Hills retreat: a modern home that doesn't compete with its surroundings, but frames them. The cantilevered architecture, expansive glass, and treetop views make the forest feel remarkably close. Inside, the design is warm and comfortable; outside, the deck extends the living space into the woods. And then there are the details that make the house personal. A record player and vintage vinyl. A fire table and pizza oven. A clock stopped at 12:34, marking a moment in the family's story. This is Hocking Hills from a different perspective. Not a cabin tucked into the woods. A house suspended above them.
